Ufouria: The Saga is a 1991 action-adventure video game developed and published in Japan and Europe by Sunsoft for the Nintendo Entertainment System.
Ufouria: The Saga 2 is a side-scrolling roguelike action game that is the sequel to the 1991 NES cult classic, Ufouria: The Saga. The game features the original crew of Bop-Louie, Freeon-Leon, Shades, and Gil, who have to explore a new world of Ufouria that is made of felt and wool.
The game promises a different adventure every time with randomly generated courses, enemies, items and secrets. The game also has a co-op mode for up to four players as well as online leaderboards and achievements. But when and where can fans play this nostalgic and quirky game? What is Ufouria: The Saga 2 Release Date?
Red Art Games has announced that it has entered into a partnership with Japanese firm Sunsoft to release a physical edition of Ufouria: The Saga 2. Ufouria: The Saga 2 will launch for Switch and PC via Steam on March 1, 2024.

The game will also come to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series at a later date, but no specific timeframe has been announced yet. The game will cost $24.99/€24.99 for the digital version and will be available on the Nintendo eShop and Steam.

What are the New Editions of Ufouria: The Saga 2?
There’s good news for those who would rather own a physical copy of the game. To deliver Ufouria: The Saga 2 in physical form on the Switch2, Red Art Games and SUNSOFT have announced their partnership. There will be two variations of the physical edition available: regular edition and deluxe edition.
Both cost €39.99, however the Deluxe Edition can only be purchased through Red Art Games and is limited to 500 Switch2 copies. One copy of the game with a reversible cover will be included with the standard edition. The following extras will be included in the deluxe edition:
- An exclusive sleeve featuring alternate cover art inspired by the original game’s Japanese cover
- A manual filled with information about the game
- A CD featuring both Ufouria: The Saga and Ufouria: The Saga 2’ soundtracks
The physical edition is expected to be released on July 5th, 2024, which is a few months after the digital release. Fans can pre-order the physical edition from the Red Art Games’ website.

Fans can view the official release date trailer for Ufouria: The Saga 2, which was made public by Nintendo of America on January 30, 2024, to receive a preview of the game’s appearance.
The game’s vibrant and whimsical visuals, along with its action-packed gameplay features like jumping, shooting, swimming and transforming, are all displayed in the trailer.
