Who are Park Bo-Young’s Parents?

Park was born in the North Chungcheong Province’s Jeungpyeong. Out of three daughters, she is the second. Her father spent thirty-four years as a soldier in the Special Forces.

She received her diplomas in theater and film from Dankook University’s Department of Performing Arts, Jeungpyeong Girls’ Middle School, Daeseong Girls’ Commercial High School and Jeungpyeong Elementary School.

When Park was a middle school student in 2005, she starred in the short film Equal before making her stage debut in 2006. While still in high school, she made her television debut in a commercial for Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power.

Park made her acting debut in the 2006 high school television series “Secret Campus”. Park became well-known for his role opposite Cha Tae-hyun in the comedy Scandal Makers, which attracted 8.3 million viewers and went on to become the highest grossing film of 2008 and one of the biggest successes in Korean cinema history.

In 2009, she featured in the human rights-themed omnibus short film If You Were Me 4, directed by Lee Hyun-seung. She co-starred with Song Joong-ki in the fantasy romance movie A Werewolf Boy which became one of the most popular Korean melodramas of all time after surpassing 7 million admissions.

Her character’s song from the movie “My Prince” was made available as a digital single and was also featured on the soundtrack. Park became a member of the cast of the reality-documentary series Law of the Jungle in 2013, which followed comedian Kim Byung-man and a number of other celebrities as they explored and survived the jungle of New Zealand.

Park was cast in June 2016 for the lead role of Strong Girl Bong-soon, a superhuman strength-wielding heroine who debuted in February 2017 on JTBC. The show rose to become one of the most popular Korean dramas ever on cable television.

Because of its success, she was awarded the greatest brand value among Korean TV performers by the Korea Reputation Center, as well as the highest consumer engagement rate in February and March 2017.
