Where Will Marin Lacson’s Funeral Services be Held?
Davenport Family Funeral Home, located at 941 S. Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047, will be open for visitation on Monday, January 29 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m.
How Did Marin Lacson Die?
Marin Lacson died after being struck by a Metra train while on her way to school. In downtown Barrington, Lacson allegedly crossed the lines at Route 59 and Main Street. According to the investigators, she stopped for one train but was struck by another train going the other way.
Since Metra started operating at this crossing in 1984, Lacson’s death is the third tragic accident at this location. The most recent one killed a pedestrian as well in 2015.

Marin Lacson has always been a colorful, effervescent, lively person who is brimming with love. She was a bundle of strength, intelligence, joy, loyalty, generosity and so much more. Every act of kindness that she has performed has demonstrated her sensitivity and compassion for other people. Her ethics and character were landmarks.
Her soul is one of the treasures we will always cherish the most. She was extremely involved and very caring. She has a unique ability to brighten every space. Marin was full of sunshine and had a great sense of humor.
SOUL Buddies Animal Therapy Club shared a post on Facebook and wrote, “Remembering Marin Lacson. Her mom told us Marin would be so happy to know that donations made in her memory are for the therapy animals of SOUL Harbour Ranch.”
