When Did Bennett Kotok Die?
We mourn the loss of the brightest light, Bennett Kotok who was just 19 years old and died on January 21, 2024, due to natural causes.
Bennett leaves behind a loving extended family that includes his grandmothers, his cherished aunts and uncles and his loving cousins. Bennett’s grandfathers passed away before him. They were influential in Bennett’s life, teaching him the value of education, hard work, perseverance and faith.
Where Was Bennett Kotok’s Funeral Services Held?
A prayer vigil was be held at Saint Thomas Academy on Friday, January 26 at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial was held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church on Saturday, January 27 at 11:30 am with visitation starting at 10 am.
After Bennett’s death, Studio Mendota Photography shared a moment of him in a post and wrote, “A moment for a young person from our community gone too soon.”

A Look at the Life of Bennett Kotok
Bennett’s life was cut too soon, yet he lived a successful one. As the team captain in intramural basketball, football and baseball, Bennett enjoyed playing sports of all types and relished competition. In addition, he served as the 2023 class president.
He was an academic success and a born leader. He participated in several extracurricular activities like peer ministry, student council and model UN captainship at Saint Thomas Academy, his cherished high school. Being a Cadet and a member of the school’s tradition and Brotherhood meant a lot to him.
Bennett was a Creighton University pre-med major who performed exceptionally well in his first year despite the intense challenges. Bennett was exactly the kind of person who aspired to become a doctor to improve the lives of others.
Bennett looked for the good in everyone and exuded kindness. Bennett held himself to a high level and encouraged everyone around him to keep improving, growing and pushing themselves. Those who were close to him, especially his family, found inspiration in him.
