It’s been a long time since Fortnite had its last update, and the latest one happened just before Christmas. Now, Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 is getting its first big content update. We’ve gathered all the important changes, as there’s been a lot of new stuff added.
Map Changes
It looks like Fortnite is experiencing global warming in its latest update. The main map change is that the snow has melted in the northern part, turning the once snowy hills into a much greener area. If you still want to play in the snow, head out west.
Solid Snake Skin
The Solid Snake skin, which was kept locked since the season started, is now available. Just like other crossover Battle Pass skins, you have to finish quests to get it. We’ll share details on those quests once they’re out. And there’s more – in addition to Solid Snake, Raiden is now in the item shop as a Metal Gear Solid skin.
Super Style and Lego Skins
Super Style skins are special rewards in the Battle Pass that give cool and flashy looks. You can get them only if you’ve already earned all the items on the main Battle Pass tree. If you’re Level 100 or higher, you can start getting these awesome skins now.
Apart from that, many Fortnite characters, such as Thanos, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, Loki, and others, now have Lego versions. If you already have these skins, you can use their Lego versions in Lego Fortnite immediately.

New Weapon
In the latest update, they added a cool new drum gun. It’s like a fancy golden Tommy gun. We’re not sure yet how it’ll be used in the update, but it might be a new weapon for one of the five bosses on the map this season.
Reality Augments
Like always, there are new Reality Augments in this update. They might not be added right away, but here’s the list:
- Hide and Heal: Get a cardboard box to hide in and recover health and shields.
- Gilded Survivor: Earn bars by staying alive on the island. Get 150 bars each time the storm circle changes.
- Countless Crash Pad Jrs: Receive some Crash Pad Jrs and get more when the storm shifts.
- Quickend Camo: Move faster when stealthed. Receive a Stealth Camo item.
- Turtle Time: Get a TMNT weapon and enjoy some pizza.
