Funeral mass celebrated the life of Preston Smith Wise was held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 12:00 noon at St. Paul Catholic Church in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Nicholas Duncan officiating.

When Did Preston Wise Die?

Preston tragically passed away on January 16, 2024, as a result of an ATV accident while hunting. Preston survived by his fiancée, Celest and their unborn son; as well as, his parents Michael and Judilyn Wise of Minden, Louisiana, sister Allison Wise and her husband Chadwick Klutts of Rogers, Arkansas and brother Shelby and his wife Katelyn Wise of Austin, Texas, and nephew Jackson.

He also leaves behind cherished memories with aunts, uncles, cousins and loved ones. Many individuals are feeling depressed as a result of the news of Preston Wise’s demise. Preston Wise became a well-liked and esteemed member of the Benbrook community during the course of his life.

The news of his passing affects not just his immediate family and close friends, but also his neighbors, acquaintances and anybody else who may have had the chance to engage with him in other spheres of life.

After Preston’s death, Chris Amanda Walker posted on Facebook, “Preston had a contagious joy and enthusiasm for life that brought smiles and warmth to all around him.”

Justin Smart wrote, “Prezzzzton. If you found yourself lucky enough to know him, you loved him. I can’t remember one moment I shared with this guy when it wasn’t all smiles.”

A Look at the Life of Preston Wise

Preston was born on September 4, 1991, in Shreveport. Raised in Minden, Louisiana, he was Glenbrook School’s valedictorian in 2010 after graduating. At Glenbrook, Preston also excelled in baseball and football, earning MPSA All-Star status in both games.

He was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity at Louisiana State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering in 2015. He has been employed by Athlon Solutions – Halliburton and ChemTreat for the last eight years as an account manager and technician in the water treatment chemical sales department.

Preston left behind a legacy of ambition, customer devotion and unyielding work ethic. In their new home in Hammond, Louisiana, he and his fiancée, Celest Wilson, enjoyed a lovely household. They imagined a world full of hopes and limitless opportunities together.

Preston Wise

A passionate naturalist, Preston loved to fish and hunt. He also shared a unique relationship with Minnie, his duck hunting dog. At his camp in Dulac, Louisiana, he shared his love with Celest and others. Many of his friends and family were able to join him on his “Blast and Cast” weekends with “Wise Waters Charters,” as he and Celest lovingly called their boat excursions for redfish and speckled trout.

He used his family and friends, who were fortunate enough to partake in his delectable dinners, as a practice audience for his specialty in fish and game cookery. Preston was so passionate about giving others a sense of specialness whenever he was with them.

Preston is an avid supporter of LSU and he showed his enthusiasm for the Tiger Stadium tailgating and yelling throughout football season. When he came, those sat in his area usually appreciated his passionate demeanor. He was infatuated with Celest and excited about making enduring experiences with her and his future family.
