Brent Sikkema was a prominent art dealer and gallery owner in New York, who was stabbed to death in his Rio de Janeiro home in 2024. He died on January 15, 2024, at the age of 75.

Two days later, Alejandro Triana Tevez, a citizen of Cuba was taken into custody on January 18, 2024 as a main suspect. Alejandro reportedly took over $3000 from Brent’s house and had it on him when he was arrested.
Alejandro seems to be near the crime site based on camera footage of Brent’s townhouse. Alejandro may be seen leaving Brent’s house before his dead body was found.

Brent Fay Sikkema was an American art dealer. Sikkema, the younger of Dwaine Louis Sikkema and Emily (Howe) Sikkema’s two children, was born in Morrison, Illinois, on August 13, 1948. He studied at the Art Institute of San Francisco.
Sikkema started creating art in 1971, and in the American city of Boston, Massachusetts, he established his first gallery in 1976. He was a partner in the Chelsea district of New York City’s Sikkema Jenkins & Co. art gallery. He established the location in 1991 under the moniker Wooster Gardens.
