MatPat is the most recent well-known YouTuber to disappear from the spotlight; he follows in the footsteps of Tom Scott, who stopped uploading on a weekly basis just after 10 years of constant uploading.
When Did MatPat Start His YouTube Career?
MatPat has been creating videos on YouTube for more than thirteen years. In April of 2011, he famously uploaded his very first Game Theory episode. The YouTuber has now started a plethora of additional channels, including The Food Theorists, The Film Theorists, and even The Style Theorists, so it’s gotten off to a fast start.
For casual viewers, MatPat is most known for his viral Game Theory segments delving into the extensive mythology of the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise—an achievement that even earned him a brief appearance in the film last year.
His YouTube empire is now, however, coming to an end. After eighteen months and thirteen years of YouTube videos, MatPat has said that he is formally retiring from the platform and giving the reigns to “someone else.”
