Katt Williams does not reveal the name of his parents. He was raised by Jehovah’s Witness parents. Jehovah’s Witnesses is a nontrinitarian, millenarian, restorationist Christian denomination.
Williams claims that at the age of three, he was able to read and speak in several languages including French and Creole. At the age of 13, he relocated to Florida and separated from his parents, earning a living as a street seller.

Williams began his comedic career in Cincinnati’s Avondale district. By playing his act in clubs around the nation, he improved his comedic delivery. By 1999, he had established himself as a successful comic, making appearances at venues including The Improv, The Comedy Club, The Ice House and Hollywood Park Casino.
His most famous appearance was as Katt “N da Hatt” Williams on BET’s Comic View. In 2006, Williams made his television debut in the comedy spectacular Let a Playa Play. He debuted in an HBO stand-up special titled The Pimp Chronicles, Pt. 1 in 2006.
He co-wrote Katt Williams: American Hustle, a comedy film and appeared in it as himself in 2007. With the film’s critical acclaim, Williams became well-known as a mainstream comedian. His second HBO comedy special, It’s Pimpin’ Pimpin’ was released in 2008.
