The real name of Brad Feeken is Bradley Joseph Feeken. He passed away on December 30, 2023. He left behind a devoted crowd of family, friends and basketball players.

Where Will Brad Feeken’s Funeral Services be Held?

On Sunday, January 7, there will be a visitation service from 3 to 5:30 p.m. On Monday, January 8th, at 1 p.m. is the funeral; cookies and coffee will be served after. Journey Church, 20020 Hampton Dr., Gretna, NE is the location of both events. Visitors are encouraged to dress in jeans, their favorite Gretna t-shirt and Gretna clothing!

What is Brad Feeken’s Cause of Death?

Brad Feeken passed away after a two-year battle with neuroendocrine cancer. Brad leaves behind his mother, Jeanie Feeken, of Omaha and sister, Karen Feeken, of Greenville, South Carolina, together with his wife, Jenny and children, Rylinn, Maylee and John.

Dale and Jeanie Feeken welcomed Brad into the world on July 15th, 1975 in Hastings, Nebraska. Basketball was his first love as a child. As a member of a Class A semifinal squad at Hastings High School, he set a school record for career field goal percentage.

He played men’s basketball for Doane College in Crete, Nebraska. He made many longtime friends during those years, chief among them being Bill Heard, the current head boys basketball coach at Gretna High. Brad obtained his master’s degree in education from Doane College.

He started his career at Gretna teaching reading to middle school students and helping with the boys’ basketball team. Brad was a good coach, but his teaching abilities were undoubtedly far greater. He had a unique capacity to relate to pupils and help them feel special during the challenging middle school years.

His presence and intensity were unparalleled. He was proud of having constructed an amazing library in his classroom and having asked for and been awarded numerous awards.

How Did Brad Feeken’s Loved Ones Pay Tribute to Him?

Brad’s honesty, vigor and passion will live on in his memory and in our hearts. He only surrounded himself with the greatest individuals. He had no time for extracurricular activities. He never gave a damn about material goods and frequently stated that a home is only “a place to hang your hat.”

He didn’t spend time on things that weren’t going to last forever. Brad’s wife and kids, mother Jeanie Feeken of Omaha, sister Karen Feeken of Greenville, South Carolina, and other family members will all greatly miss him.

After Brad’s death, his loved ones pay tribute to him. Tricia Thierolf posted on Facebook, “Gretna basketball coach Brad Feeken sadly lost his battle with cancer. He will forever be remembered as a warrior both on and off the court.”

Doane University Men’s Basketball team wrote, “We are saddened to hear of the passing of former Doane basketball player and Gretna basketball coaching legend Brad Feeken.”
