Born on January 9, 1979, Amber Mildred Ruffin is an American comedian, author and actress. The Amber Ruffin program, her own late-night chat program, airs on NBC and Peacock.
In 1996, she received her diploma from Benson High School. Of the five children, Ruffin is the youngest. Ruffin picked up Signed Exact English as a toddler to interact with his neighbor who was deaf. Since 2014, she has contributed writing to Late Night with Seth Meyers.
She was the first Black woman to write for a late-night network talk show in the US when she joined the program.
