From Where Did Ian Punnett Get Education?
Punnett began his academic journey at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he contributed as a student columnist for the Daily Illini. In 1988, he successfully earned his degree in English literature and rhetoric.
Later, Punnett pursued a Master of Divinity degree at Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta and was ordained as a Deacon in the Episcopal Church. Taking his education further, Punnett enrolled in the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University in 2013, aiming for a Ph.D.
He completed his doctoral studies in 2017, focusing on the creation of a theory titled “Toward a Theory of True Crime: Forms and Functions of Nonfiction Murder Narratives.”
A Look at the Professional Life of Ian Punnett
After college, Punnett co-hosted rock morning radio shows like “Ian Case and the Coach” on WXLP in the Quad Cities. Later, he teamed up with Mike “The Duke” Donegan for “Ian Case and The Duke” on WKDF in Nashville during the early-to-mid-1990s.
In between, Punnett was the morning host on WMJY in Long Branch, New Jersey. Moving to talk radio in 1993, he joined WGN in Chicago until 1996. In 1997, Punnett hosted a nightly talk show on WGST in Atlanta under his real name.
Returning to WKDF in 1998, he co-hosted from his home studio in Atlanta, playfully slipping up on his pseudonym.
Punnett co-hosted Ian and Margery with his wife on KTMY in Minneapolis-St. Paul and was the regular Saturday night host of the widely syndicated paranormal-themed Coast to Coast AM. On August 1, 2007, Punnett reported the Minneapolis bridge collapse on CNN. In July 2013, Punnett ended his radio hosting career in order to begin studies for a doctoral degree.
