Caroline Ouimet, a nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital, passed away in a sad accident in Charlestown on December 18, 2023. She was only 32 years old. Her sudden death has really hurt the Boston community. People who knew her, both as a friend and a colleague, are deeply affected by this loss.
Caroline Ouimet Early Life and Education
She finished high school at King Phillip Regional in 2009, doing great in both studies and sports like field hockey and lacrosse. After that, she went to Boston College Connell School of Nursing.
In 2013, she graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor of Science and becoming a Registered Nurse. Later, in 2020, she got her Master of Science in Nursing. During her time at Boston College, she volunteered with Appa, lived in The Mods during her senior year, and made lasting friendships.
Caroline Ouimet Career of Compassion and Dedication
Caroline started working as a nurse at Emerson Hospital right after finishing college. Later, in 2016, she switched to the Emergency Department at MGH. During the pandemic, she worked really hard as an ER and trauma nurse with her friends and colleagues to help save many lives.
After getting her Masters degree, Caroline moved to the MGB urgent care network and began working as a Nurse Practitioner in late 2022. People remember her not just as an excellent care provider but also as a great leader.
She always made a point of encouraging her trainees by saying, “good job today” because she knew from experience how much it meant during training.
