A Look at Chance Comanche’s NBA Draft Journey
Chance Comanche was born on April 14, 1996, and now he is 27 years old. He won the Southern Section 3A championship as a senior in 2015 after averaging 20.1 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks per game for Beverly Hills High School.
Comanche played in 60 games during his two years at UA (2015–2017), averaging 2.9 boards and 4.9 points per game. He revealed his intention to forego the last two years of college eligibility and remain in the draft on May 5, 2017, after having declared for the 2017 NBA draft on April 8, 2017.
It’s worth noting that no team picked him up. When the NBA Summer League would not ask Comanche to participate, he decided to join the pro-am Drew League instead. He became a member of the NBA G League’s Memphis Hustle. He had a 9.2 point and 5.4 rebound average in his rookie year.
The Memphis Hustle traded Comanche to the Canton Charge on January 7, 2019, in exchange for a second-round pick in 2019 from the Raptors 905 and the right to return to Jordan Mathews.
Comanche inked a contract with the Enid Outlaws of the Hoop League in 2021. He led the team in scoring with 43 points in a 152-78 victory over the Lewisville Leopards on April 19. The Comanche’s stat line was 27.4 points, 12.9 boards, 2.1 assists and 1.3 blocks per contest.
He joined the Turkish Basketball First League team Ankara DSİ S.K. on June 24, 2021. He defeated Bornova Belediyespor with 24 points and 16 rebounds on December 21, earning him the title of league player of the week.
The Stockton Kings announced the addition of Comanche to their opening night roster on November 3, 2022. Comanche inked a contract with the Portland Trail Blazers on April 9, 2023. He lost his NBA debut game to the Warriors 157-101 on the same day.
Though he joined the Sacramento Kings on October 2, 2023, Comanche was waived on October 12. He was waived on December 15, 2023, after rejoining the Stockton Kings on November 9, 2023.

Why Was Chance Comanche Arrested?
Comanche and his girlfriend, Sakari Harnden were arrested by the FBI in Las Vegas and was being held on $500,000 bail. They were arrested in connection to the kidnapping and murder of 23-year-old Marayna Rodgers, who was reported missing in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 7.
Both were initially charged with first-degree kidnapping charges. Rodgers’ remains were subsequently found in the desert outside of Henderson, Nevada. He was released by the team on Friday, December 15, 2023.
