Does Bill Maher Belong To a Rich Family?
Maher was born in the city of New York. His mother, Julie Maher was a nurse and his father, William Aloysius Maher Jr. was a radio announcer and network news editor. He was brought up in the Roman Catholic faith by his Irish-American father.
He didn’t know his mother was Jewish until he was in his early teens; her family came from Hungary. When Maher was thirteen, his father stopped taking him and his sister to Catholic church services because he disagreed with the Catholic Church’s position on birth control.
