A Look at The Life of Terri Ficca
Terri Ficca was born in Butler, PA. She was the daughter of Dolores (Lefebvre) Ficca of No. Smithfield and the late Anthony P. Ficca. Before relocating to No. Smithfield in 2005, she spent the majority of her life in Woonsocket, where she also completed her high school education in 1978.
She obtained her teaching credential in elementary education at Roger Williams University after earning a bachelor’s degree in outdoor recreation from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. She was working on an elementary education master’s degree at the time.
Miss Ficca was a beloved elementary school teacher at Globe Park School in the Woonsocket School Department. She will be sorely missed by her pupils and coworkers. She was also a longtime employee of Eastern Mountain Sports, where she was well-known for leading outdoor education lectures.
Terri’s love of camping, kayaking and hiking which covered much of the Appalachian Trail kept with her spirit of adventure. She was a dedicated volunteer who led the Globe Park Parent Teacher Association, coached Woonsocket Softball for 12 years, mentored Boy Scouts in the neighborhood and belonged to Big Sisters of America.
