Croft was born in Farnborough, Kent. She did really well in tennis, winning the Wimbledon and Australian Open girls’ tournaments in 1984. In 1985, she won the Virginia Slims of San Diego tournament by beating Wendy Turnbull in the final.
By December 1985, she was the 24th best in the world. Croft played for Great Britain in the Fed Cup in 1985 and 1986 and also in the Wightman Cup from 1983 to 1986. She played tennis until February 1988 but didn’t make it to another final after that.
Annabel Croft, despite being one of the world’s top 25 tennis players, retired at the young age of twenty-one. She was tired of constant travel and no longer found joy in playing tennis. After retiring, she became the host of Channel 4’s Treasure Hunt and later had her show on ITV called Interceptor.
In 1990, Croft released a fitness video called “Annabel Croft’s Shape Tape.” She has also been involved in tennis coverage as a tennis pundit for BBC, Radio 5 Live, GMTV, Sky Sports, and Eurosport. Croft has made appearances on various UK lifestyle TV shows.

In 2009, they both started the Annabel Croft Tennis Academy at the National Tennis Centre. Unfortunately, after a brief battle with stomach cancer, Coleman passed away on May 24, 2023.
