“Brissa Romero” a Carpentersville teenager was the focus of a week-long search after going missing on December 4 while on route to a holiday work party. Where Did Brissa Romero’s Dead Body Find?

Romero vanished while traveling to a Vernon Hills bowling facility. She was last seen in Des Plaines, visiting a relative. Police say that security footage, which was recorded just before Romero’s phone last rang, from a fast food restaurant nearby indicates she was driving around the time she was thought to have vanished.

During the investigation, several items belonging to Romero, including a backpack were found along the pond’s shore.  A 2008 Nissan Rogue, had been also found in the same pond.

Just before 12:30 p.m. local time on Tuesday, December 12 divers taking part in the search for the missing child discovered and recovered a body that fit her description from a retention pond near Executive Way and Lakeview Parkway in Vernon Hills, around 40 miles north of Chicago.

What Was Found in Brissa Romero’s Autopsy Reports?

According to the preliminary autopsy results that were completed on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, there were no significant injuries and Romero’s death is consistent with drowning.

An investigation by the Vernon Hills Police Department, the Carpentersville Police Department, the Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) of Lake County and the Lake County Coroner’s Office is ongoing.

Romero was a graduate of Barrington High School and was studying at Harper College to become an ultrasound technician. On Sunday, December 17, 2023 family members held an emotional vigil for Romero outside of the Bowlero bowling alley.
