Xana Kernodle, born on July 5, 2002, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, sadly passed away on November 13, 2022, at just 20 years old. She grew up in Post Falls, Idaho, and was good at lots of things from a young age.
As a kid, she was a talented gymnast. Later, in middle and high school at Post Falls, she played volleyball, ran track, and played soccer. She stayed busy with all sorts of activities and also worked part-time at Texas Roadhouse.
After graduating in 2020, she went to the University of Idaho to study marketing. There, she was part of the Pi Beta Phi sorority and the Vandal Solutions Sales Team. She also worked part-time at Mad Greek Restaurant in Moscow, Idaho. Xana’s life was full of energy and involvement in different things.

Xana’s family includes her dad, Jeff Kernodle, mom, Cara Northington, sister Jazzmin, and brother Elija. She is also survived by aunts and uncles Sparky and Kim Kernodle, Elaine Wilkinson, Ken and April Kernodle, Wayne Kernodle, and many cousins, including Terrance Northington, Ryan Northington, Mike Northington, Huey Northington, and many more.
Xana Kernodle Passions and Hobbies
Xana had a lively life filled with things she loved. She adored her dog, Shoeshine, and was into EDM music and going to concerts. Spending time with friends was a favorite, and family trips with her sister and dad were special.
She treasured memories of summers at her grandparents’ farm and time by the river. Known for her positive and outgoing personality, Xana’s zest for life and contagious sense of humor made a lasting impact on everyone around her.

Xana Kernodle Tragic Incident
Xana passed away on November 13, 2022, in a very sad way. Her dad, Jeffrey Kernodle, said she showed a lot of courage when it happened. It’s confusing because nobody knows why it happened – there doesn’t seem to be a reason.
Her dad talked about the safety measures at their home, like a coded door lock. It’s weird because the person who hurt Xana either knew the code or got in some other way.

Xana was in a relationship with Ethan Chapin, another victim of the tragic incident. On her Instagram, you could see a happy life full of friends, love, and cool moments.
Pictures with Ethan and friends, plus snapshots from trips, showed how awesome her life was. Even her dad noticed positive changes in her because of the relationship, saying she took on more responsibilities.
Community Support and Legacy
After the sad event, people came together to help Xana’s family through a GoFundMe page. It showed how much the community cared and how Xana had touched everyone’s life.
Many paid tribute to her, like her old teacher, who remembered her as a great student, and her co-workers at Vandal Solutions, who praised her for being creative and lively.
People also remembered her time working at the Mad Greek Restaurant, and the restaurant itself shared kind words about Xana and the others who were affected.
Even though Xana’s life was cut short, she left a lasting impression with her enthusiasm, dedication to learning and work, and the strong bonds she formed with those around her. Her memory lives on through the stories and impact she had on her community.
