Before “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”, Devon had been acting for several years including having his scenes as Derek cut from the fourth movie in the Saw franchise. He portrayed the title role of Jasper Galloway, a motley crew leader battling “zemons” entities that combined elements of a demon and a zombie.
His success in this genre persisted when Devon was chosen for The CW’s post-apocalyptic science fiction series “The 100” in 2014. He played Monty’s best buddy Jasper Jordan for four seasons on the program until a string of bad events left him disillusioned.
As a result of his drunkenness and depression, Jasper ultimately took his own life in Season 4, Episode 11, “The Other Side.” Many people regarded his departure as one of the saddest events of “The 100”.
