Yassine Mami, a member of parliament, has emphasized that Hannibal was of West Asian Semitic descent. Hannibal was born in 247 BC in Carthage, which is now the capital of Tunis, Tunisia.

The Tunisian politician reportedly stated, “There is a risk of falsifying history: we need to take position on this subject.”

Meanwhile, French-language Tunisian newspaper La Presse expresses similar objections stating that portraying Hannibal as a Black African is a historical error according to Tunisians and many observers.

Why Did Fans Think Denzel Washington Has Died?

Fans think Denzel Washington died because of a now deleted Facebook post that announced his death and gained nearly one million likes. The post reads:

“At about 11 a.m. ET on Saturday (November 25, 2023), our beloved actor Denzel Washington passed away. Denzel Washington was born on December 28, 1954 in Mount Vernon. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”

Fans with crushed hearts started to pour forth tributes, sharing their sorrow. Some fans were convinced by the post, while others were skeptical because there have been a lot of recent false and similar claims made. Some claimed the story was a hoax since it hadn’t been featured on any significant American network.
