She enrolled in the Convent of the Sacred Heart, a private Roman Catholic school exclusively for females, at the age of eleven. Gaga characterized herself as “a bit insecure” but also “very dedicated, very studious and very disciplined” in high school.

She was made fun of for “being either too provocative or too eccentric” and saw herself as a misfit. Gaga’s mother pushed her to become “a cultured young woman” and at the age of four, she started to play the piano. Throughout her childhood, she practiced and attended piano lessons.

At the age of 17, Gaga was accepted early to the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University (NYU)’s Collaborative Arts Project 21, where she resided in a dorm. She wrote writings on politics, social issues, religion and art while studying music there.

She even completed a thesis on pop musicians Damien Hirst and Spencer Tunick. During the second semester of her sophomore year in 2005, Gaga dropped out of school to concentrate on her music career. She also appeared in MTV’s Boiling Points, a spoof reality show, as an unaware diner patron that same year. Lady Gaga did very hard work to reach at this stage.
