At Which Age Did Miki Matsubara Die?
Miki Matsubara was born on November 28, 1959 in Kishiwada, Osaka, Japan and passed away on October 7, 2004 at the age of 44. Her early years were spent in Hiraoka Town, Sakai, Osaka’s Nishi-ku.
She grew up in a family of four including a father, a mother and a younger sister. Her mother was a jazz vocalist who had performed with the Japanese jazz band and comedy troupe Crazy Cats and her father served on the board of a hospital.
At the age of three, Matsubara began studying the piano and she eventually became acquainted with jazz. She attended Hiraoka Elementary School in Sakai City as a young child before enrolling at Poole Gakuin Junior High School in 1972.
At this point, Matsubara developed a taste for rock music and joined the group “Kurei”. She started at Poole Gakuin High School in 1975 and joined the band “Yoshinoya Band” as a keyboard player. They would perform songs at Takutaku, a live music venue in Kyoto.
Although many people in her immediate vicinity expected Matsubara to go to college because she was a stellar student, she had already made arrangements to follow her passion of becoming a singer at the time. Matsubara traveled alone to Tokyo in 1977, while still a high school student, to make her singing debut. She did very hard work in her life.
