How Did Kokoi Baldo Die?
Kokoi Baldo died on Friday, December 8, 2023 in a vehicular accident. The incident happened in Bacolod City. Sam, Kokoi Baldo’s manager, verified the tragic news of his passing on his official Facebook page. He wrote:
“It is with a heavy heart to inform the public, especially the fans, that Kokoi Baldo has passed away earlier this morning. We kindly ask for privacy during this hard time with respect to his family and friends.”
The singer will be missed, loved and forever be in our hearts the statement continued, adding the emojis for purple hearts, crying and broken hearts. An hour later, Kokoi’s wife returned to Facebook and requested that fans remove any messages about the singer’s untimely death since they were upsetting the family. The singer’s wife wrote:
“I am humbly asking everyone to take down the posts pertaining to my husband, Kokoi Baldo’s accident scene as it is already causing distress to our entire family, If you see any posts of the said accident, please ask the owner of the post to delete. He will be missed, loved and forever in our hearts.”

A Look at Kokoi Baldo’s Life
In 2014, Kokoi Baldo participated in the second season of “The Voice of the Philippines” which was broadcast on ABS-CBN. Meanwhile, during the reality singing competition’s Live Shows, Philstar Global announced that he had been the winner of the public’s choice for two weeks running.
Though Baldo made it to the finals, the season was won by his teammate Jason Dy. Still, Kokoi became well-known for his performances of Matisyahu’s One Day, Mr. Big’s To Be with You and The Police’s Message in a Bottle.
Baldo was referred to as the “Bob Marley of the Philippines” according to Medico Topics and his official Facebook page listed him as the winner of the ABS-CBN reality show “Your Moment” alongside rock reggae band Juan Gapang.
