Erich Gonzales performs under contract with Star Magic on ABS-CBN. At the age of 14, she participated in the reality talent search Star Circle Quest which launched her career in show business. Her breakthrough performance was as Katorse, the lead.
She took her mother’s maiden name, Gonzales, instead of Gancayco after winning Star Circle Quest. Erich completed her high school education at the ABS-CBN Distance Learning Center at the beginning of her entertainment career. She then went on to Trinity University of Asia for her college education, majoring in mass communication.
Gonzales became well-known in 2009 when she co-starred with Enchong Dee, Ejay Falcon and Xian Lim in the TV version of the 1980 movie Katorse, where she played the lead role of a teenage mother. Erich shot to fame after the critically acclaimed and highly rated series won her the title of Breakthrough Star of 2009 from “The Buzz”, a Sunday entertainment talk show.
