In 2011, Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert met at a New York party. Taylor told VladTV in a 2014 interview, “He came up to me and tried to talk to me, but I was in a relationship.”

In divorce papers, Teyana Taylor accused Iman Shumpert of being deeply emotionally and mentally abusive to her and of being involved in several cheating scandals. The singer’s covertly filed court documents in Georgia in January stated that their seven-year marriage is “irretrievably broken.”
She says, however, that things were very different behind the scenes in her divorce file, in which she used their initials in an apparent attempt to keep it as quiet as possible.
