What is the Reason Behind Jacquelyn Fonte’s Death?
Jacquelyn Fonte Huff is the wife of Glendale Heights police officer “Michael Huff”. Jacquelyn and her husband died in the Homer Glen murder-suicide. An investigation into a potential murder-suicide is underway.
Jacquelyn was shot three times in the head by her husband, Michael Huff a sergeant who spent more than 20 years working for the Glendale Heights Police Department, according to a statement released by the Will County sheriff’s office Tuesday, November 21 night. According to the sheriff’s office, Michael Huff self-inflicted a gunshot wound to his head which caused his death. At 5:46 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2023, police were called to the 13600 block of Shannon Drive in Homer Glen.
Police said two children, ages 6 and 18 were home at the time of the incident and the 18-year-old heard the shooting and called 911. Neither child witnessed the shooting, police said.
Police and the Northwest Homer Fire Department responded and confirmed that both Huffs had died. The sheriff’s office had responded to the Huff residence on three prior occasions.

A GoFundMe Page was set up after Jacquelyn Fonte’s death by her sister-in-law, Kristin Fonte, who stated on the page “Jackie was such a bright light in so many lives. Anyone who knew her understood how lucky they were to be her friend.”
A service will take place at St. Matthew Church, 155 Glen Ellyn Road, Glendale Heights, Memorial Mass at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 29, 2023.
