What Did Annette Carter’s Family Say About Her Death?

Josh Carter wrote in his mom’s obituary that she passed away on September 19, 2021. Josh wrote:

“Jeff saw her across the student center while he was playing spades, and he told his friends to turn around and look at that pretty girl that just walked in, He told them he was going to marry her, and four years later he did.”

Josh wrote, adding that some of Annette’s favorite memories while in Washington, D.C., included meeting the cast of Star Wars after the release of A New Hope and John Travolta. Josh said:

“Annette was a homemaker and she was devoted to raising her three boys and will be remembered by her friends and family for her easy smile, her fun-loving sense of humor and her caring nature.”

He added:

“She loved to laugh at a particularly bad white elephant gift or a ridiculous pair of earrings. She always saved stories or comics that she thought would make her sons smile. Annette was a prolific storyteller and often had her listeners in gales of laughter by the end of one of her tales. She loved her family and her friends with all her heart, and they loved her back with all of theirs.”

A Look at the Life of Annette Carter

In Annette’s family there is Jeff Carter, Annette’s husband, her two children, Josh and Jamie Carter, their spouses, Sarah and Anna Carter and her three grandchildren, Charles, Jonathan, and Rayna Carter. Annette was born on November 5, 1952, in Arlington, Georgia.

On their first day of classes at Georgia Southwestern University, she met her husband, Donnel Jeffrey “Jeff” Carter, who is President Carter’s third child with wife Rosalynn. After dating during their time in college, Annette and Jeff tied the knot on April 6, 1975.

Jeff’s father, who is now ninety-six was the Georgia governor at the time of their marriage and was traveling the nation to campaign for the presidency with Annette. The Carters won the presidency in 1976 and 24-year-old Annette and Jeff assisted in entertaining everyone from Pope John Paul II to Bob Dylan.

She made the decision to raise their family in Georgia and left the White House before the Carter administration ended. Their eldest child, Josh was born in 1984. Their sons, Jeremy and James, were born in 1987 and 1991, respectively.
