Tyre Nichols enjoyed taking pictures, skateboarding, watching sunsets, and spending time with his 4-year-old son, as told by his friends and family.
Sadly, he passed away on January 10, just three days after a run-in with five police officers in Memphis, Tennessee. A video of the incident shows that he was brutally beaten. Did Tyre Nichols Have an Affair With the Cop’s Ex-girlfriend?
Various sources have been suggesting that Nichols dated Haley’s ex-girlfriend, who used to work with him at FedEx. It was claimed that after Nichols was supposedly beaten, Haley took pictures of him to show his partner as a warning.
Sir Maejor, an actor and model, said on Monday,
“I am being told that Tyre Nichols was in a relationship with and worked at a Memphis @FedEx with Memphis Police Demetrius Halys’s ex-girlfriend & baby mama. After the beating Officer Halys took a pictures of TyreNichols face and sent it to his babymama.”
Lisa Campbell, a “life advisor” from Washington D.C., said on Twitter,
“I did some investigating into the Tyre Nicols Murder and felt something was off and I was right. I’m being told that Tyre Nicols Murder was personal (which I felt) and he was sleeping with one of his murders wife “Demetrius Haley” Tyre & the Officer wife worked at FEDEX 2Gather!”
In another post, she said,
“Those Office Murdered Tyre Nicols due to Tyre sleeping with one of his murders Demetrius Haley wife and I’m told the wife reported this to the Police! Regardless Tyre Nicols did not deserve to be Murdered! Why wasn’t the white Officer fired as well hmmm”
However, we were unable to find any evidence to support the rumor that Nichols was dating Haley’s ex-girlfriend or ex-wife.
Why Have People Spread Rumors About Nichols?
People who were spreading the unproven rumor had different opinions and reasons for doing so. Some criticized the gossip, emphasizing that a personal disagreement doesn’t excuse violence.
On the other hand, there were activists and influencers, mostly supporting the Black Lives Matter movement, who argued that if there’s any proof of a personal motive, the charges against the police officers should be upgraded to first-degree murder.
Currently, the officers face second-degree murder charges, which don’t require planning. In Tennessee, first-degree murder can lead to the death penalty, while second-degree murder carries a sentence of up to 15 to 60 years in prison.
