How Did Adam Johnson Die?
On Saturday, October 28, 2023, Johnson a player for the Nottingham Panthers and formerly the Pittsburgh Penguins passed away in a “freak accident” that occurred during an English game versus the Sheffield Steelers.
Through social media, the Panthers revealed that the Minnesota native had died after a crash in which a skate blade cut his throat.

Additionally, Fresno State Football honored Johnson by sharing a tweet with the caption, “Our thoughts are with the Wylie family during this difficult time.”

Johnson played for the Penguins following his graduation from the University of Minnesota Duluth. He made 13 NHL games for them in 2018–19 and 2019–20. The hockey player has also played in the American Hockey League, the Elite Ice Hockey League and in Sweden and Germany.
