What Happened to Lofi Girl? Know The Truth!

Lofi Girl

Lofi Girl

Lofi Girl formerly ChilledCow is a French YouTube channel and music label established in 2017. It streams low-fidelity hip-hop music 24/7 along with a Japanese-style animation of a girl learning or chilling out. Recently a news spread online related to the girl and below you will read about it.

What Happened to Lofi Girl?

On Monday, November 13 morning, Lofi Girl studies at her desk, as she always does. She will look out the window and turn the page in her sketchbook while her orange cat looks out the window in a lazy way. Then, sometime after 9 a.m. Lofi Girl disappeared while Kanisan’s “Morning Moon” was still playing.

It turns out that Synthwave Boy also stopped streaming. One second Lofi Girl was there and the next she was gone. If you closed your eyes, you might not have seen her go.

The official Lofi Girl account on Twitter shared an update at 9:03 a.m. that showed the empty areas and the glowing windows for each character in the background.

It looks like Lofi Girl has been building up to this point since last week. On November 11, her Twitter account shared a picture of her longingly looking out the window.

In a photo shared on November 12, she looked at a framed picture and thought about it. She’s gone now.

You might not know that this has happened before if you are new to the Lofi Girl world. Yes, Lofi Girl has a story. Earlier this year, Lofi Girl disappeared, but she left behind some hints such as the blue window that was glowing.

Synthwave Boy hangs out and plays video games in his blue-and-purple-colored bedroom. She came back with him. Synthwave Boy had a cute little dog instead of an orange cat.

What is the Real Name of Lofi Girl?

Along with “Lofi Girl” streams there is an animation of a girl studying or relaxing. This girl is known as the Lofi Girl, the Lofi Study Girl or the “24/7 lofi hip hop beats” girl, but her real name is Jade. In March 2018, the station started streaming with the Lofi Girl.

In the beginning, Dimitri used Shizuku Tsukishima from the 1995 Studio Ghibli movie Whisper of the Heart as the channel’s face. The streams showed her learning or writing.

When the streams became so popular that the channel had to be shut down for copyright violations, Dimitri decided to keep the Ghibli-style look but give the character a unique personality and asked artists to join. One of the artists who responded was Juan Pablo Machado.

Before moving to Lyon to study at the Émile-Cohl Design School, Machado spent some time at the art school in Bogota, which is where he is from. In September 2018, when he was in the last year of his master’s degree, he chose to answer his school’s call for tenders.

ChilledCow’s bid was for a student busy studying for her classes with vivid images reminiscent of Miyazaki. Machado chose to send in his sketches even though he didn’t know much about the lo-fi style. For the Lofi Girl, different positions were tried out such as lying down and then going back to the first position.

This wasn’t used in the finished product because it took too long to animate. To save time on animation, the background was first just black, but Machado finally chose to put La Croix-Rousse in the window instead.
