Our collective heart breaks for them, and we all feel such a profound sense of loss. We will miss Kevin so much, and this town lost one of its brightest rising stars today.”

Which Movies Did Kevin Turen Make in His Life?
Turen was closely associated with Sam and Ashley Levinson. They helped start Little Lamb Productions which made HBO’s highly regarded thriller Euphoria. The show has been nominated for 25 Emmy Awards and has won nine of them.
Along with producing the much-talked-about HBO show The Idol, Turen and the Levinsons also made the 2020 movie Pieces of a Woman, whose star Vanessa Kirby was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor. Turen was born in 1979 in New York City.
He went to Columbia University and got degrees in English and Critical Film Studies. To get into the movie business, Turen first worked at Capital Entertainment which later changed its name to First Look Studios. He started at First Look as a creative executive and worked his way up to become president of production.
He helped the company grow from having four workers to having more than 150. Turen bought and pushed more than 100 movies at First Look, such as The Proposition, The Dead Girl and An American Crime.
Afterward, he went to work for Infinity Media and was their head of production before becoming a principal at Treehouse Pictures. Turen made his name at Treehouse by producing Nicholas Jareki’s 2012 movie Arbitrage, which starred Richard Gere and J.C. Chandor’s 2013 movie All is Lost, which starred Robert Redford.
He also made 99 Homes, At Any Price and That Awkward Moment for the same company. David S. Goyer hired Turen as president of his production business Phantom Four in 2014. Turen and the Levinsons’ first TV show was Euphoria, which was based on an Israeli drama of the same name.
Turen, the Levinsons and The Weeknd also worked together to make the HBO drama “The Idol”. Like Euphoria, The Idol was a big deal on social media, but for the wrong reasons: there were reports about how the show was being made and when it first aired, it got bad reviews.
Turen has also produced the critically acclaimed drama Waves by Trey Edward Shults, the action drama The Last Days of American Crime by Olivier Megaton for Netflix, the comedy Sharp Stick by Lena Dunham and the Nicolas Cage movie The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent by Tom Gormican.
