Regular watchers of WTHR-13 have probably noticed that evening 13News anchor Anne Marie Tiernon hasn’t been on the show in the past few weeks.
Anne Marie Tiernon, who works hard as a news reporter for WTHR-13, faced an unfortunate accident in the woods more than a month ago that left her with serious but not life-threatening injuries. This incident kept her out of the news and she recently shared an update on her health and below you will read about it.

What Did Anne Marie Tiernon Say About Her Health?
She just recently posted on social media that she needs another surgery as part of her ongoing healing and recovery process.
Tiernon said in a Facebook post early Monday, November 6, 2023 morning that she would not be there because of serious but “not life-threatening” injuries she got in a forest accident more than a month ago. She didn’t give any more information about the crash or her injuries. Tiernon wrote:
“Over a month ago, I was injured in an accident in the woods. My injuries are serious, but they are not life-threatening. My doctors recently determined another surgery is warranted. I’m now preparing for that and focusing on healing and recovery.”
“Thank you for your kind posts, texts, calls, and DM’s checking in on my well-being. I’m so appreciative of your support for the dedicated WTHR Team members who are filling in the gaps with excellence.”
In her post, she thanks viewers, fans and her coworkers at WTHR for their support and well wishes. She said:
“Overall, I trust in God’s plan, am grateful I survived, and know every storm runs out of rain. For now, I’m off to make my health a priority.”

The staff bio on the WTHR website says that the anchor of the 5 and 6 p.m. weeknight newscasts has worked in Indianapolis news for decades and has won an Emmy. Anyone who watches the NBC affiliate that covers the Olympics has seen Tiernon.
She went to cover Indiana athletes competing in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia; the 2012 Olympics in London, England; the 2010 Games in Vancouver, Canada and the 2008 Games in Beijing, China.
