Burt Young, nominated for an Academy Award for his role as Paulie in the “Rocky” films, has passed away. Paulie was Sylvester Stallone’s gruff, mumbling best buddy, corner man, and brother-in-law. Anne Morea Steingieser, Young’s daughter, told on Wednesday that her father passed away on October 8 in Los Angeles. He was 83.
Young’s acting resume boasts appearances in critically acclaimed productions like “Chinatown,” “Once Upon a Time in America,” and “The Sopranos.”
