Adelaide Hall passed away in the Charing Cross Hospital in London, England, in the early hours of November 7, 1993, at the age of 92 from natural causes.

Her funeral was held in New York in the Cathedral of the Incarnation located in Garden City, New York and she was laid to rest next to her mother at the Cemetery of the Evergreens in Brooklyn. This was done in accordance with her wishes, which were honored.

A memorial service was held for her in London at St. Paul’s, Covent Garden also known as the “actors’ church”, and many famous people such as Elaine Paige, Elisabeth Welch, Lon Satton and Elaine Delmar were in attendance.

Adelaide Hall was born on 20 October 1901 in Brooklyn, New York and passed away on 7 November 1993 at the age of 92.

Elizabeth and William Hall gave birth to Adelaide Hall. William Hall taught piano at the Pratt Institute, where Adelaide and her sister Evelyn studied. On March 23, 1917, her father passed away. Evelyn passed away from influenza three years later, on March 25, 1920 leaving Adelaide to care for her mother and herself.

Bertram Errol Hicks, a British sailor born in Trinidad and Tobago, was married to Hall in 1924. He became her official business manager and opened “The Big Apple” in Harlem, New York, not long after they got married. She did very hard work to make her name.
