Why did Lauren Boebert File For Divorce?
The wife of Colorado Rep. Jayson Boebert filed for a divorce after being married for almost seventeen years. Irreconcilable differences are the reason behind their divorce. The Republican lawmaker said in a written statement:
“It is with a heavy weight on my heart that I have filed for divorce from my husband, I am grateful for our years of marriage together and for our beautiful children, all of whom deserve privacy and love as we work through this process, I’ve always been faithful in my marriage, and I believe strongly in marriage, which makes this announcement that much more difficult.”
She said:
“This is truly about irreconcilable differences, I do not intend to discuss this matter any further in public out of respect for our children, and will continue to work hard to represent the people of Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District.”
The process server said that Jayson was extremely angry when the divorce papers were served. The process server said:
“I tried to hand him the documents, but [he] did not take them. He started yelling and using profanities, and told me that I was trespassing, and that he was calling the Sheriff’s Office. I told him I was leaving the documents on the chair outside of the door, he closed the door then let the dogs out.”

On October 2023, Rep. Lauren Boebert is now officially divorced from her husband Jayson. The congresswoman and her now ex-husband both attended the final hearing on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.

After a tense and short hearing, Magistrate Katherine Barnes gave her final approval. According to Boebert’s lawyer, the congresswoman will not be changing her name.
The hearing was delayed for about 30 minutes and the door to the courtroom was locked during that time. At the hearing, the congresswoman brought her grandson.
Through the door, loud noises and the crying of the couple’s six-month-old grandchild could be heard. As the Boeberts left the courtroom together, they mostly ignored reporters’ questions.
