There was no one Suzanne Somers loved more than her son, Bruce Somers, Jr., among her many children from different relationships.
On October 15, 2023, the Three’s Company star passed away with her son by her side. Suzanne’s longtime publicist R. Couri Hay released a statement saying the actress passed away “peacefully at home” and “was surrounded by her loving husband Alan, her son Bruce, and her immediate family.”
Bruce Somers Jr. was born to the actress and her then-husband Bruce Somers Sr. in 1965. Suzanne was 19 years old at the time. A few time after her separation with the elder Bruce, in 1975, she wed actor Alan Hamel. (She also adopted Hamel’s biological children, Leslie and Stephen, and took on the role of stepmother.)
Bruce has made it a habit to share heartfelt Instagram tributes to his mom on special occasions like her birthday and Mother’s Day. The CEO frequently referred to Suzanne as a “warrior” for her strength in the face of adversity, particularly her cancer diagnosis in 2000. He also spoke highly of the unselfish love she showed him.
Even when the world around us wasn’t safe or loving, you managed to make me feel that way. ”I am one of the lucky ones to be so adored,” he wrote in May of that year, 2021. Learn all there is to know about Suzanne Somers’ son Bruce and the special link they share with their mom.
