How Did Sally Mcneil Kill Her Husband?
Sally McNeil, a former competitive bodybuilder from the United States was found guilty of killing her Mr. Olympia competitor husband Ray. The McNeils were the most well-known couple in professional bodybuilding, and Ray McNeil reached the height of his career when he was named Mr. California in 1991.
In the late 1980s, Sally was a fierce competitor who twice took home the U.S. Armed Services Physique Championship trophy. However, the couple’s tumultuous relationship was fueled by ‘roid fury, physical abuse, infidelity and envy.
Eight years into a dysfunctional marriage, on Valentine’s Day 1995, bodybuilder spouses had their final dispute. Sally pulled a 12-gauge shotgun out of a closet and fired one round into Ray’s midsection.
She reloaded and shot at her husband’s face once more as he fell to his knees. Shantina and John the couple’s two young children were inside the home at the time of the shooting.

What did Sally Mcneil Say After Kill Her Husband?
On the day of the murder, Sally called the police and reported that Ray choked her. Ray screamed out “No!” as he lay bleeding and shook his head in protest.
Ray was brought to a hospital, where he later passed away from his gunshot wounds. Despite Sally’s claims of self-defense, she was accused of first-degree murder.
She was characterized by prosecutor Daniel Goldstein as the aggressive aggressor in the union who killed Ray to be able to collect on a life insurance policy. Sally tested positive for the steroid Deca-Durabolin at the time of her arrest and Ray’s autopsy indicated that his bloodstream contained five distinct types of steroids.
In the Netflix real crime docuseries, convicted killer Sally breaks her silence and admits that she killed her husband Ray McNeil in order to shield herself and their children from his horrifying violence.
