Kirk and Allison have four kids together. Herbstreit’s sons are all avid athletes. Alison gave birth to the twins; Jake Herbstreit and Tye Herbstreit in 2000, Zak Herbstreit in 2003 and Chase Herbstreit in 2006.
As a highly anticipated walk-on in the 2021 freshmen class for Ohio State football, Zak Herbstreit continued the family tradition. Herbstreit is the third in his paternal line to play football for the Buckeye.
With his three brothers, Tye Herbstreit grew up in Nashville, Tennessee. He is a redshirt sophomore wide receiver who has played in five games thus far.
