Gabriel Daniel Fernandez was born on February 20, 2005. He was the son of Arnold Contreras and Pearl Fernandez. Gabriel was given to his maternal great-uncle Michael Lemos Carranza and his boyfriend David Martinez shortly after birth.
Gabriel, then 4 years old went in with his grandparents in 2009 because his grandfather didn’t approve of Carranza and Martinez’s same-s*x relationship.
He resided with his grandparents up until 2012, when, in spite of worries from the family for his welfare his mother “Pearl Fernandez” and her boyfriend “Isauro Aguirre” obtained physical custody of him. But after sometime he was killed.
Who Killed Gabriel Fernandez?
Eight-year-old Gabriel Fernandez from Palmdale, California, who had endured months of abuse and suffering, passed away on May 24, 2013.
He was beaten by his mother Pearl Fernandez and her boyfriend Isauro Aguirre. Isauro Aguirre and Pearl Fernandez were found guilty of first-degree murder in a case that included torture. Below we shared a tweet that confirmed the news of their crime:

Aguirre was inspired to harm Fernandez because he thought Fernandez was gay. Aguirre received a death sentence, while Pearl received a term of life in jail without the chance of release. His story was detailed in a Netflix documentary “The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez”.

What Was Found in Gabriel Fernandez’s Autopsy Report?
Gabriel Fernandez endured eight months of systematic abuse and torture while living with Pearl Fernandez and Isauro Aguirre. Gabriel Fernandez’s mother, Pearl Fernandez, contacted 9-1-1 on May 22, 2013, to report that her son was not breathing.
After failing to pick up his toys, Fernandez had been fatally beaten by his mother and Aguirre. He was found on the ground naked and hurt when emergency personnel arrived. At first, Aguirre described Fernandez as “gay” to them.
He was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where medical staff pronounced him brain dead. On May 24, 2013, he passed away at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, two days later.
He passed away at the age of eight and the official autopsy determined that neglect and malnutrition as well as blunt force injuries contributed to his death.
Regular beatings that resulted in broken bones, being made to consume cat litter and feces, his own vomit and spoiled or expired food, being burned with cigarettes and heated spoons, being shot with a BB gun in various body parts including the face and groin, being pepper-sprayed, being made to wear women’s clothing, being forced to sleep bound and gagged in a small cupboard and having his teeth knocked out with a bat were among the abuses.
