People are sharing YouTube videos that purport to show that Toby Keith passed away unexpectedly at a hospital. A Fake website shared a Facebook post with the caption, “5 minutes ago / R.I.P Singer Toby Keith Died on the way to the hospital / Goodbye Toby Keith.”

This is yet another instance of fake news that has been generated and spread by individuals in order to earn money from page views. But it is true that Toby Keith was diagnosed with an illness.

Which Disease Did Affect Toby Keith’s Health?

He was diagnosed with stomach cancer in the fall of 2021. He shared this sad news on Instagram with a post which is provided below:

Toby Keith shared a rare image of himself on June 2, 2023, to promote the charitable Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Then, on July 15, he uploaded a video of himself singing in the karaoke machine-equipped back of his Uber vehicle! In this video, he appeared considerably better.

Toby Keith just issued an update on his health. The 61-year-old “Red Solo Cup” singer stated in an interview that his blood tests are normal and the tumor in his stomach has reduced. He said:

“I’m feeling pretty good … I’m about another eight weeks from my last scan. So I expect next time I look for that tumor to be even less — and I’ve only got one that’s shown up. Basically, everything is in a real positive trend”

Although cancer can be unpredictable, Keith went on to say that he feels more energized overall and would like to play again this fall. He stated:

“You never know with cancer, so you have to prepare. But my goal is, I feel better; I’ve got more wind. All I got to do is see if I can get through two or three nights of work and get a little break in this chemo, and we’ll go back to work. I’m ready, That’s living.”
