What is Lauren Holiday’s Profession?
Lauren Cheney Holiday is an American soccer player who used to play professionally. From 2007 to 2015, she was a defender and forward for the U.S. women’s national soccer team. She has won two gold medals at the Olympics and won the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Holiday played for the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team FC Kansas City and the Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) team Boston Breakers. She played soccer for the UCLA Bruins in college.
Holiday’s national team won gold at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada. At the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup, she played for the U.S. team.
The U.S. came in second and Holiday was named to the All-Star team. She won the U.S. Soccer Young Female Athlete of the Year award in 2007. In 2014, she was named the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year. She was the first player in the history of the NWSL to have her jersey retired after she left the league.
Holiday was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Rita and George Cheney. As a child, she started playing soccer after seeing her brother play. Until she was 12, she played on boys’ teams. She went to Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, where in 2004–05 she was named the most important offensive player.
In 2004, the Indianapolis Star named her Metro Player of the Year. In 2006, she was named Parade All-American and Gatorade Player of the Year. She also won many area awards such as first-team All-Conference, All-County, and All-State and Indianapolis Star Super Team Player of the Year.
She was chosen as an Indiana All-State player every year she was in high school and the NSCAA named her an All-American three times. Holiday’s high school career ended with 118 goals scored and 67 assists given. She finished school in the middle of the year in 2006 so she could train full-time with the U.S.

Which Illness Did Affect Lauren Holiday’s Health?
In October 2016, Lauren Holiday who is married to Jrue Holiday had surgery to remove a benign brain tumor. Holiday took off about a month to look after Lauren.
In June of that year, the former member of the U.S. women’s national soccer team was told she had meningioma. She went to the doctor after getting a lot of headaches. The MRI showed why she had times of very painful headaches.
Even before the MRI result came back, Jrue Holiday was allegedly worried about Lauren Holiday’s right side of the head feeling numb. The fact that Lauren was pregnant with Jrue Tyler Holiday made her position very hard. In September, she gave birth to their son.
A brain growth was found a month later and she had to have surgery to get rid of it. Luckily, the New Orleans Pelicans were not playing during her last few months of pregnancy and while she was giving birth. Every step of the way, Jrue Holiday was with her.
He also missed the start of the regular season because his wife was still getting better from surgery. Four months after the surgery, Lauren Holiday shared on Instagram a long, heartwarming and even brave message:
Seven months after the surgery in May 2017, Jrue Holiday’s wife finally shared a picture of herself on Instagram. She had a strong message for Mother’s Day to go with it, “Today reminded me just how incredibly strong women are.”
