When Will Max B be Released From Prison?
In September 2016, Max reached a plea agreement for aggravated manslaughter and his sentence was lowered to 20 years. In 2019, his imprisonment was further reduced to 12 years for an unspecified cause. On his Twitter, Wiz Khalifa shared the news of the icon’s imprisonment and tweeted, “Max B is coming home.”

According to French Montana, Max B, the rapper also known as Charley Wingate is scheduled to be released from federal jail in 2023. On January 9th, the news was shared via a tweet supporting Max B’s music video for “Lemonade” from French’s mixtape, Coke Boys 6.
Max requested him to spread the word that he’ll be released in April, the Coke Boys capo said. French wrote, “MY BROTHER WAS FACING 75 YEARS .. HE TOLD ME TO TELL YALL HE‘LL BE HOME IN APRIL!!”

Why Was Max B Arrested?
Since 2009, Max B has been incarcerated after being given a 75-year jail term for conspiring to commit armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault and criminal murder. Of the 11 counts against him, nine were upheld as true.
The rapper from Harlem is accused of conspiring to rob two men in 2006 at a Holiday Inn in New Jersey with his stepbrother Kelvin Leerdam and ex-girlfriend Gina Conway. Max B was Arrested at Which Age?
Max B was born in Charly Wingate on May 21, 1978 reared in the Abraham Lincoln housing projects in Harlem, New York City and now he is 45 years old. Max B was arrested at the age of 31.
His mother, Sharon Wingate, the eldest of eight children, struggled with addiction her entire life and finally spent more than a year and a half in jail for her crack addiction. Charly’s grandparents raised him primarily. His mother claims that Charly’s grandma instilled in her strong religious principles at an early age.
He was raised in a musical family and had performed with the Boys Choir of Harlem. Charly was severely impacted by the streets despite his grandmother’s best attempts. At the age of 18, he started serving a sentence for robbery in 1997.
Before being freed in 2005, Wingate continued to serve a further 8 years in prison. He immediately started pursuing a career in music after being released, going by the stage name Max B. According to Wingate, his brother Eric who passed away, gave him collections of tapes as he came and went from town inspiring his love of rap music.
