Season 6 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 is all about getting ready for Halloween, or as the in-game event will be called, “The Haunting.” Midseason, in October, is when that begins, so until then, there will be a new battle pass, four new multiplayer maps, and the introduction of the first licensed character, Spawn.
Despite this being the last season of Modern Warfare 2, all purchases and unlocks will carry over to the November 10 release of Modern Warfare 3 (and will still be available in Warzone 2.0). Dates and details for the upcoming sixth seasons of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 are listed below.
When Will COD Season 6 Will Release?
COD Season 6 will be released on September 27 at the same local time. When Season 6 premieres in your region are as follows:
- 9 a.m. PT for the west coast of North America
- 12 p.m. ET for the east coast of North America
- 6 p.m. CET for western Europe / Paris
- 5 p.m. GMT for the U.K.
- 2 a.m. JST on Feb. 16 for Tokyo
You should have about 24 hours to download the Season 6 update before the above timeframes, based on the release schedules of past seasons.

What Does Season 6 Of Modern Warfare 2 And Warzone 2.0 Bring?
There are a few things to look forward to before “The Haunting,” the Halloween-themed midseason event that is the primary focus of the Season 6 update.
The following will be added to both games at the beginning of Season 6:
- The “Doom Chainsaw” (yeah, that Doom) melee weapon is introduced midseason, joining the “TR-76 Geist” assault rifle, the “ISO 9mm” SMG, and the “Dual Kamas” at launch.
- The new battle pass features Al Simmons, a new operator, and Spawn, the tier 0 and tier 100 skin. Our interview with Todd McFarlane, creator of Spawn, goes into much detail regarding this partnership.
What Mid-season Changes Are In Store For Modern Warfare 2 And Warzone 2.0?
You may have noticed that the content available at the start of Season 6 is lacking. This is because most of the updates will be released in the middle of the season as part of “The Haunting” event, including modifications to the Al Mazrah and Vondel maps in Warzone 2.0, which will include a Zombie Royale mode and Halloween-themed equipment.

Meanwhile, there’s an event called “Soul Capture” that happens in both games and has you collecting Souls from dead players to exchange for unique rewards. Logging in daily also rewards you with free cosmetics.
