In September 2019, the California Air Resources Board and Dr. Ing. h. c. F. Porsche AG and its subsidiary Porsche Cars North America resolved a number of emissions-related problems.
Porsche made a number of self-disclosures to CARB in 2016 and early 2017 regarding the noncompliance of certain of its gasoline vehicles from the 2014 to 2017 model years with the standards for both emissions certification and on-board diagnostic systems.
These included the use of unapproved vehicle modifications, improper testing techniques and the submission of false test results. Porsche cooperated with CARB throughout its inquiry and was prompt in supplying all the data required to ascertain the scope of the relevant concerns.
You can be qualified for a settlement payout from the class action if you are the owner, lessee or lessor of a specific Porsche vehicle with a gasoline engine. Over 23,000 Porsche gasoline vehicles including the Cayenne, Boxster and Panamera were affected by these breaches in California.
What Happened in the Porsche Gasoline Settlement?
Porsche and Volkswagen have resolved claims that some gasoline vehicles bearing the Porsche brand that were sold or leased in the United States produced excessive emissions and/or had worse fuel economy in real-world driving than they did in testing by agreeing to a Consumer Class Action Settlement Agreement and Release the Settlement.
Volkswagen and Porsche have agreed to a settlement despite the allegations. Who is correct has not been determined by the court. This Settlement has been approved by a federal court.

What Services Does the Settlement Provide?
Some vehicles subject to a Sport+ emission recall may also get an additional $250. Depending on the model and model year of the car, the Settlement’s maximum cash payouts range from roughly $200 to $1,100 for original and sole owners of the Class Vehicles.
In some cases, lessees, non-original owners and former owners may be able to make a compensation claim. Payments for some Class Vehicles will vary according to the number of months they have been owned or leased, and payments will be dependent on changes in fuel economy that will be reflected in an updated Monroney Label.
In order to complete the ongoing Sport+ emissions recall, Class Vehicles with Sport+ Mode will also be given an extra $250. The Settlement is at least $80 million in value overall.
