Who is Enoch in Star Wars

“Far, Far Away,” the sixth episode of Ahsoka on Disney Plus, introduces us to a new world, new creatures and a group of stormtroopers who stand out because of how they are dressed. The army is led by an officer named Enoch, whose helmet faceplate has been changed with something that looks like a creepy golden death mask.

Who is Enoch in Ashoka?

Captain Enoch is a brand-new character in the official Star Wars story and he didn’t appear in Legends either. Even so, he has already shown that he is Thrawn’s right-hand man while they have been stuck on the planet Peridea. The sixth episodes of Ashoka is now streaming on Disney Plus.

In Ahsoka, episode 6, Captain Enoch makes his Star Wars debut as a gold stormtrooper working for Grand Admiral Thrawn. Thrawn has finally been brought to life and his voice actor from Star Wars Rebels, Lars Mikkelson is back to play him.

You can see Enoch in a tweet provided below:

Captain Enoch is Thrawn’s right-hand man. He has shown his worth on the planet Peridea and is in charge of Thrawn’s men. The fact that Captain Enoch’s gold mask looks like that of the Nightsisters suggests that he is connected to their society and may be using their magic.

He’s the one who sends Sabine Wren on her way to find Ezra and when Thrawn is coming, he’s eager to get his men in line.

Even more proof of how important Captain Enoch is to Thrawn’s plans is that he presents him to Morgan Elsbeth, Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati. It’s clear that Captain Enoch has changed his gear which leads to a thought that goes much deeper than it seems.

Who plays the Character of Enoch in Ashoka?

Wes Chatham plays Captain Enoch in Ahsoka’s story. He is best known for playing Castor in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay” Parts I and II. He also played one of The Expanse’s main characters, Amos Burton, for all six seasons of the show.

This is his first official Star Wars story and he has made a very interesting figure come to life. Even though not much is known about Captain Enoch at this point, his importance to Thrawn is stressed and his armor makes him stand out from his peers.

Chatham could be very involved in the next two episodes of Ahsoka, even getting into a fight with the main character. Thrawn is getting ready to go back to the familiar Star Wars galaxy that the characters call home and Captain Enoch is set up to play a key part in keeping Thrawn safe and helping the Grand Admiral.

No one knows for sure if he has a deeper connection to the Nightsisters, but he is still a sign of how this Imperial Remnant has been rebuilt in the years they have been in exile.

How Does Enoch Look Different From the Other Nighttroopers?

The general look of the Nighttroopers is both cool and scary, which makes a lot of sense for an army that has been on the run for so long. But Enoch is still different from his coworkers in the army in some other way. When Thrawn shows up for the first time, Enoch is giving orders to the battalion while the troops yell Thrawn’s name.

This is another thing that the Roman Legions and their commanders did and when Enoch finally shows his face, it’s the stuff of nightmares. His helmet isn’t like a normal Stormtrooper’s because it has a golden humanoid mask instead of a faceplate.

His armor is also a lot more fixed up and he wears robes from the waist down. All of this makes Enoch stand out in many ways, but his role as leader is by far the most important. As Thrawn’s right-hand man, he needs to be easy to spot and the best way to do that with Stormtroopers is through their armor.

Enoch Different From Other Nighttroopers

Clone troopers in command roles have already made changes to their armor and in a few decades, the First Order will have three types of Stormtroopers with different armor: In the Sequel Trilogy, Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) wears chrome armor, Commander Pyre (Liam McIntyre) wears gold-plated armor in Star Wars Resistance, and in the book Phasma, Captain Cardinal wears red-plated armor.

But Enoch’s mask is one of a kind. Even though it has ties to Roman military imagery and makes him look like a gladiator because of his robes, it looks more like a funerary mask, the kind that ancient people like the Greeks would put on their dead to help them keep their identity in the future.

Again, we run into the theme of resurrected dead people, because if this is based on funeral masks, then Enoch is probably dead. Even scarier is the fact that he has two red Imperial symbols on his mask. He is the only Night Trooper with those.

They look like seals that are put on things to keep ghosts inside. As the leader of the Nighttroopers, if he wears them, the whole army will be safe. It might be a stretch, but it makes some sense.
