From Which Disease Was Katty Kay Suffering From?
Katty Kay, a news presenter at BBC was diagnosed with bronchitis and the flu back in 2017. This made her miss work and feel quite under the weather. She talked about her illness with the BBC. She said:
“I’m sick. I have shards of glass where my throat used to be. There are hot skewers in my ears (my husband says this is not true; he lies). Getting out of bed to refill my water glass takes more physical effort than I usually exert in a week. My bed has disappeared under a pile of disgusting used tissues.”
“I look, feel and sound revolting. I am revolting. My doctor says I have bronchitis or flu and bronchitis or flu and an infection. That sounds mild compared to what I feel. And I confess I was hoping for a more spectacular diagnosis, if only to relieve my guilt.”
What are the Symptoms of Bronchitis and the Flu?
Bronchitis and the flu are both respiratory illnesses, but they’re caused by different viruses. When someone has bronchitis, it means that their bronchial tubes which are the air passages connecting the lungs to the windpipe are inflamed.
People with bronchitis may experience symptoms like coughing, trouble breathing, wheezing and feeling tired.
