According to a fan translation, he assured the Army that his enlisting was nothing to be sad about and that they would see each other again in 2025. In response to criticism of the shorter hairstyle he debuted on the livestream, he said he was still getting used to it.
Soon after wrapping up the Asian part of his Agust D-DAY tour in support of his solo album D-DAY, which he released under the alias Agust D, BIGHIT informed the BTS ARMY on August 7 that Suga had started the procedure to begin his military service.
BTS, which consists of Suga, RM, V, Jin, Jung Kook, J-Hope and Jimin was initially made aware by BIGHIT in October 2022 that their inability to perform as a unit until 2025 was a result of their required military service. Jin enlisted first, then J-Hope, and now Suga.
