Billy Miller, an actor who for years charmed viewers of soap operas by playing Billy Abbott on “The Young and the Restless” has passed away. He died on September 15, 2023, just two days before he turned 44.
What is Billy Miller’s Cause of Death?
In a statement, Miller’s manager confirmed the news of his passing. He said:
“Emmy Award-Winning Actor Billy Miller died on September 15, 2023 in Austin, Texas. The actor was struggling with manic depression when he died.”
But the cause of death was not disclosed yet officially. Jon Lindstrom who played the roles of Kevin Collins and Ryan Chamblerain at “General Hospital” said that Miller was always making him laugh.

On “The Young and the Restless,” Miller and Eileen Davidson co-starred. Eileen Davidson tweeted a snapshot of the two taken at a Daytime Emmy celebration and wrote, “His infectious charm and warmth left lasting impressions on all of us who were lucky enough to have him in our lives.”

Fans of soap operas saw Miller make his debut as Richie Novak on “All My Children” in 2007. He spent a year on the show before joining the cast of “The Young and the Restless.”
He was honored with three Daytime Emmys for his portrayal of the brash playboy Billy Abbott in 2010, 2013 and 2014. He appeared in 719 episodes while continuing to work on the CBS serial drama till 2014.
The following year, Miller received another Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Main Actor in a Drama Series when he joined “General Hospital” as Jason Morgan/Drew Cain. After 592 episodes, he left the ABC program.
In addition to his work in soap operas, Miller had recurring appearances on “Suits”, “Ray Donovan” and “Truth Be Told” as well as in the 2014 Oscar-nominated film “American Sniper.” He played a cameo role on “NCIS” in 2022.
Miller moved to Los Angeles after receiving his degree from the University of Texas, Austin. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas. He made the decision to become an actor there and secured many commercial bookings before being hired for “All My Children.”
