With profound sorrow, we announce on September 13, 2023, Andrew “Drew” G. Chenelle passed away at 59. For 18 years, Drew worked as a neurosurgeon at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital. The main cause of his death is not yet disclosed.

On September 18, 2023, Countryside Funeral Home, 950 S. Bartlett Rd., Bartlett, IL 60103 will host a visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Mass will be held at St. Peter Damian Catholic Church, 131 S Crest Ave, Bartlett, IL 60103, at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 19 after prayers at the funeral home at 9:15 am.
He was the adored father of Brooke Simon-Chenelle and Devon Chenelle, the devoted brother of Lynne Chenelle and Lisa (Bob) Norton and the loving half-brother of Dana Chenelle and Quinn Chenelle. John and Shirlee Chenelle, Drew’s parents died before him.
The well-known neurosurgeon lived in Bartlett, Illinois and devoted more than 31 years of his life to the practice of medicine. His primary area of competence was neurosurgery making him a valuable resource for the medical industry.
The sudden passing of Dr. Chenelle has left his family, friends and patients grieving. Many remember him with affection for his commitment to helping others and the enormous difference he made in the lives of countless people.
Many people who knew him have paid tribute, reflecting the community’s tremendous loss. Bruce Good posted, “Once again, with sadness in my heart my buddy Dr Andrew Chenelle has passed.”
Amie DeBias Weber wrote, “Rest in Paradise Dr Andrew Chenelle. I will always cherish our doctor-patient-friendship you truly were one amazing guy!!!”
We also grieve the passing of Dr. Andrew Chenelle, his reputation as a kind and accomplished neurosurgeon endures. We shall love and remember his contributions to the profession of medicine and to the health of his patients.
